20 All Star teams will be participating in the Ikorodu Constituency II All Stars Unity Championship which is an initiative of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Lagos State House of Assembly.
The draws for the tournament, with was held at the AMA Hotel and Suites, Ijede, set the stage for the tournament that would see the best of actions from teams from the three council areas in the Ikorodu Constituency II – Igbogbo/Bayeku, Ijede and Imota Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
According to the initiator/sponsor, winners of this year’s tournament, which returned with new trophies, updated rules and incentives for participating teams, will go home with N1million while there is N500, 000 cash prize for the second placed team and N400, 000 for the third. The sum of N300, 000 will be given to the fourth placed team.
Prof. Macpherson Ogunshomore from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) spoke to the audience on the topic, ‘Active Aging Through Sport’, during which he called for sensible lifestyle choices, regular medical checkups, and respect for referees during the tournament.
Hon. Aro, welcoming teams to the 2025 championship draws, emphasized the purpose the tournament was initiated for – unity, cooperation and the promotion of sportsmanship among youths across councils, communities and towns within his constituency.
The lawmaker warned participants against seeing the tournament as a battle that must be won at all cost and urged referees to curb hard tackles and incitement.
He also emphasised that participants must be 40 years and above to participate in the tournament.
At the end of the draw, participating teams were grouped into four groups and will play in a league format at four different vanues.

During the programme, a recognition award was presented to Hon. Aro Moshood by the Ikorodu Coaches Association.
Recall that the maiden edition of the AMA Ikorodu Constituency 2 All Stars Unity Championship Cup, was won by the Igbogbo All Stars.
